Applications now being accepted for Chuck Laughery Music Camp Scholarship

[April 12, 2017]  LINCOLN - The Chuck Laughery Music Camp Scholarship is available to Logan County high school students and graduating 8th graders going into Lincoln Community High School.

Students may apply by writing a letter containing the following:

  • Explanation of what camp they wish to apply
  • Why they would like to go to camp
  • What they hope to gain from the experience
  • How they plan to use what they learn

Please also include:

  • Applicant’s name
  • Parents’ names
  • Phone number

Letters can be sent to:

Letters must be received by May 13, 2017. Once applications are reviewed, students will be notified of their acceptance status.

Six students received the scholarship in 2016: Ella Burton, Aria Pumfrey, Sydney Worth, Hope Graber, Sarah Starasta, and Kaleb Franklin. Kaleb was also a recipient of the 2015 scholarship, along with Laura Centers, Katy VanSlambrouck, and Austin Garriott. By attending music camp, these students hope to better not only their musical skills, but their interpersonal skills as well.

Established in 2010, the Chuck Laughery Music Camp Scholarship provides music students of Logan County financial assistance in attending summer music camp.
