[April 13, 2017]    The Lincoln Railsplitters Baseball Team lost both Central State Eight games with Glenwood this week.

On Tuesday afternoon the Railsplitters hosted the Titans and lost 2-0 while facing Division I recruit Reid Detmers.

Detmers (4-0) has yet to allow a run all season, bringing his streak of scoreless innings pitched to 29. Detmers had also held CS8 competition hitless until Lincoln senior Cole Sheley stepped to the plate. Sheley’s bunt single in the first inning broke that streak.

Lincoln would also get two hits apiece in the game from Andrew Young and Austin Newton. Jacob Maton was 1-2 for the Titans with a run and an RBI to lead the Titans offense.

The Railsplitters only hit came from the bat of Jacob Konczyk.

The Titans offense was led by Todd Fowler, who went 3-3 and had two RBIs. Jake Ryan also had two hits and two RBIs for Glenwood.

Lincoln’s record falls to 4-8 on the season.

The Railsplitters host a double header with Mahomet-Seymour this Saturday at 10 a.m.
