Lincoln Fire Chief Mark Miller offers update on Treu-Body fire

[April 21, 2017]  LINCOLN - Lincoln Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in a commercial building used as an automobile repair and body shop. The alarm time was 11:24 a.m. The fire was brought under control at 12:56 p.m.

First to arrive units reported fire and smoke conditions in the building. Off-duty Lincoln firefighters, Lincoln Rural Fire, Atlanta Fire, Mount Pulaski Fire, Logan County Paramedics, Logan County Emergency Management Agency and Lincoln Police worked on the scene for several hours. Sherman Fire stood by Lincoln Fire Department and handled two incidents while in quarters. 20 firefighters battled the blaze.

One True-Body employee was burned in the fire incident and he was transported to Memorial Burn Unit in Springfield. One firefighter was overheated and take to ALMH for evaluation and released.

Damage to one building and several vehicles was estimated at $250,000.

The cause is being investigated, however, no suspicious activity is reported; equipment malfunction was possibly related to the cause.
