[April 23, 2017]    Coach Darrin Worth’s team had a light week of action last week, and to say the least, his young team went 0-3 against some pretty solid competition.

Monday, East Peoria

On Monday Lincoln suffered a 10-0 loss to East Peoria.

Lincoln’s hits came from the bats of Kerstin Osborne, Hope Moos, Mackenzie Antoine and Sydney Sutherland.

According to the coaching staff, Lincoln watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover.

East Peoria scored early and often in the first inning. Nine times off starter Hope Moos to be exact. The 9-0 first inning deficit was devastating for the Railsplitters. East Peoria added one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning to clinch the victory.

LDN provided coverage of Lincoln’s 5-0 and 17-1 losses to Sacred Heart Griffin in last Thursday’s edition.

Lincoln falls to 8-11 on the season and will face Central State Eight rival Jacksonville this week.

Tuesday at Jacksonville 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday home versus Jacksonville 4:30 p.m.
Friday home versus Limestone 4:30 p.m.
