[August 02, 2017]  LINCOLN - Judith Ann Coogan, 78, of Lincoln passed away at 8:41 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her residence.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home

Obituary

Judith Anne Coogan, 78, of Lincoln passed away at 8:41 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her residence.

Judith was born September 16, 1938 in Lincoln the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Blaum) Beaver Sr. She married Judge David Coogan on June 12, 1971 in Lincoln, he survives.

Judith is also survived by her brothers; Paul (Sue) Beaver of Lincoln, and John (Kathy) Beaver of Lincoln. Nieces, Ann Beaver Witting (Ron Wolpert) and Amy O’Donnell (John). Nephews, Frederick Blanford (Amy), Brian Beaver (Christine), and Brad Beaver (Michele). Great-nieces, Hannah Witting, Kyleigh Snavely, Lauren O’Donnell, Caitlin Beaver, Camille Blanford, Abigal Blanford and Claudia Blanford. Great-nephews, Ethan Witting, Kevin O’Donnell, Corey Beaver, and Brandon Beaver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant sister.

 

Judith retired from Chester-East Lincoln and Northwest Schools after teaching there for 35 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, DAR, and the Logan/Dewitt Retired Teachers Association. She was truly devoted to all of her nieces and nephews.

Services for Judith will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Father Simon Taabu officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made in Judith’s name to Logan County 4H Foundation or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation.
