On Wednesday, August 2nd, the city of Lincoln celebrated the completion of the new Municipal Services Building located on Limit Street in Lincoln. The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony outside the massive garage that will be utilized by the street department.

The new building will serve as the headquarters for the street department, plus it will house the offices of the city's code officer and staff.

Afterward, guests were invited to take a tour of the building, enjoy a free hot dog meal, and munch on sweet treats, all courtesy of the city. Walt Landers with Lincoln Street Department noted he is looking forward to now officially moving into the new facility.

The front part of the building houses offices and boasts some wonderful Route 66 artwork, but also features an entryway floor and entire wall that is paved with bricks from old city streets, as well as some interesting old ironwork that was part of the city's drainage and sewerage systems "back in the day."
