John J. Kohler, 74, of Broadwell passed away at 8:15a.m. on Friday,
August 25, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Obituary
John J. Kohler, 74, of Broadwell passed away at
8:15a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
John was born on October 5, 1942 in Bloomington, the
son of Robert H. and Mary (Welch) Kohler. He married
Kay Bumgardner on August 21, 1961 in Bloomington.
She survives in Broadwell.
John is also survived by one son, David A. Kohler:
one brother, Robert D. Kohler of Fox Lake, IL; one
sister, Jane Kohler of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John graduated from Illinois State University with a
Bachelors Degree in Education. He was employed as a
teacher in Kewanee and Atlanta School Districts for
several years. He was also in sales for a number of
years. John enjoyed learning about history. He liked
watching political programs and Alaskan State
Troopers. Additionally he enjoyed watching car shows
and auctions. |
Cremation rites have been accorded; and a private
service will be held on a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the
Broadwell Christian Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
