[August 29, 2017]    LS Jeff Overbaugh was signed by the Bears. Overbaugh, who has yet to appear in an NFL game, suited up with the Los Angeles Rams last season after signing as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State.

The 6-foot-2, 236-pound Overbaugh also spent time with the Denver Broncos in May. The Bears also waived injured long snapper Patrick Scales, who sustained a serious right knee injury in Sunday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

WR Cameron Meredith, who was carted off the field with a left knee injury in the first quarter of Sunday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, reportedly suffered a torn ACL. An MRI exam revealed Monday that Meredith has a torn ACL, a source told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. There reportedly is other damage and the 24-year-old Meredith will undergo further tests. The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Meredith led the Bears with 66 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games last season.
