[August 30, 2017]  MOUNT PULASKI - John R. White, 79, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 10:48 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Visitation: Friday, September 1, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the funeral home

Obituary

John R. White, 79, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 10:48 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

John was born on July 11, 1938 to Paul N. and Marie O. (Latta) White. John was a railroad worker and was an over the road truck driver for many years. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1961. He loved his HAMM radio business and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are three children, John W. (Linda) White of Rochester, James P. (Jennifer) White of Troy, OH and Janette (Chad) Cooper of Mount Pulaski, five grandchildren: April White, Bethany (Rick) Hoffert, Jessica Hilbert, Denise White, and Olivia Cooper, four great grandchildren, Chloe White, Kherrington Hilbert, Emerson Hilbert, RJ Suits, two step grandchildren, Denver Hoffert and Keira Hoffert. Also surviving is one brother Harold N. (Jean) White of Florida, and one brother-in-law Doc Wells of Macon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and one grandson Pfc. James P. White Jr.

Services for John will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 also at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center or the American Diabetes Association.
