Corey Beccue named Mount Pulaski High School November Senior of the Month

MOUNT PULASKI

Corey Beccue, son of Jeannie and Jeff Beccue of Mount Pulaski, has been named November Senior of the Month at Mount Pulaski High School. He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Corey has actively participated in many school activities during his time at MPHS. He has participated in Golf and Track and Field. He is also a member of Scholastic Bowl, Chess Club, Student Council, NHS, WYSE, Science Olympiad, Spanish Club, Band, and he is also a Senior Class officer. Outside of school, Corey is a member of Active Catholic Teens.

Corey is co-founder of the chess club and class treasurer at MPHS. He earned first and third place on individual tests in WYSE Regional, third team WYSE Regional and sectional, and second individual in Science Olympiad Regional.

Corey hopes to attend the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and pursue a degree in Engineering.

The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Johnson True Value Hardware and Conaway Handyman Service. Monthly award winners receive a $100 award paid to the college they plan to attend. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by Illinois National Bank.
