[December 14, 2017]  On December 13, 2017, George William “Bill” Overton passed away to continue his eternal journey with Jesus.

Memorial Gathering:  9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16 at First United Methodist Church in Lincoln

Service:  10 a.m. on Saturday at the church

The Overton family requests a short visitation so that friends and family can connect at the “Donut Celebration” following Bill’s service.

Obituary

On December 13, 2017, George William “Bill” Overton passed away to continue his eternal journey with Jesus. He left behind his wife, Janet Austin Overton, their children, Heather Overton–Behl (Kevin), Tara Overton-Hennessy (Paul) and Tara and Paul’s children, Zo Overton-Hennessy (Bethany) and Xavia Overton-Hennessy. His parents, George and Beatrice Pitzer Overton and his sister, Mary Overton Drysdale preceded Bill in death.

Bill was born February 16, 1943 in Freeport, Illinois and moved to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin when he was young. In college, he met the love of his life, Janet. They were married September 7, 1964.

The First United Methodist Church in Lincoln will host a celebration of Christian Life Service.

Burial will be in Plummer Cemetery, West of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 9-10 am, Saturday, December 16, 2017, with a memorial service at 10 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Lincoln-Logan Food Pantry.
