LINCOLN

Wednesday, December 13 was a special day for some of our youngest citizens as they experienced the joy of choosing a gift for those they love. This was the first of three days that children enrolled at either Head Start or Christian Child Care were bussed to the First Presbyterian Church (FPC) for a Christmas shopping trip.

FPC set up a "store" stocked by donations from the congregation. With a list of names in hand, each child was assisted by a church volunteer in choosing just the right gift.

It was a fun time. The kids were super charged and excited to be able to pick out gifts for their family.

While their gifts were being wrapped and bagged, the children were treated to cookies and juice.

Before leaving, each child was given a bag of gifts chosen just for them as a gift from the church.

The event was organized by the First Presbyterian Church Mission Committee.
