Mount Pulaski sweeps Athens in Friday night basketball action

[December 16, 2017]    Mount Pulaski conquered yet another basketball opponent who has gotten the best of the Hilltoppers in recent years. Both Mount Pulaski teams defeated Athens Friday night at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium.

 

The Varsity game was close for three quarters, but Mount Pulaski pulled ahead in the fourth quarter and came away with the 68-53 win over the Warriors.

Gezus Oliver led Mount Pulaski with a career-high 33 points. Oliver connected for 9 three-pointers in the game. Peyton Taylor tossed in 12 points and Seth Huff hit double-digits with 11 points for Mount Pulaski.

In the JV contest the Hilltoppers got the best of the Warriors by a score of 54-47.

Mount Pulaski was led by Dustin Murphy with 22 points. Brandon Kretzinger poured in 20 points for the Hilltoppers.

Mount Pulaski takes on Lincolnwood tonight in an away game.
