12/18/2017 NHL Note - Chicago Blackhawks Pokka, Ville

D Ville Pokka was assigned to Rockford of the American Hockey League, the team announced Monday. Pokka was recalled by the Blackhawks on Wednesday, but did not appear in a game with the team.

NHL Note - San Jose Sharks Couture, Logan

C Logan Couture has been ruled out of Monday's game against the host Edmonton Oilers with a head injury. Couture exited early in the third period of Friday's game versus the Vancouver Canucks following a high hit from Alexander Burmistrov, who received a minor penalty for interference.

NHL Note - Colorado Avalanche Barrie, Tyson

F Tyson Barrie scored two goals in Monday's 4-2 win over the Penguins. Barrie broke a 1-1 tie with his second goal of the game after Pittsburgh's Ian Cole went off for crosschecking. His shot from the point went through teammates and Penguins players and beat Matt Murray at 5:56 of the second.

NHL Note - Colorado Avalanche Varlamov, Semyon

G Semyon Varlamov had 30 saves in Monday's 4-2 win over the Penguins. He stopped Phil Kessel on a breakaway early in the first and then was able to clear away Josh Archibald's shot that dribbled through his legs and rested on the goal line in the second period.

NHL Note - Los Angeles Kings Folin, Christian

D Christian Folin left the game Monday with an upper-body injury after the first period and did not return. He will be re-examined on Tuesday.

RW Sven Andrighetto had two assists in Monday's 4-2 win over the Penguins.

NHL Note - New York Rangers Brown, Chris

RW Dustin Brown played in his 999th NHL game Monday. The hard-hitting 33-year-old veteran has been incredibly durable in his NHL career, missing just 17 games over the past 14 seasons.

LW Andy Andreoff returned to the lineup Monday after sitting out the previous 10 games after he was hurt by a punch from Anaheim Ducks D Kevin Bieksa on Nov. 25.

NHL Note - Montreal Canadiens Weber, Shea

D Shea Weber of the Montreal Canadiens is being shut down due to a nagging foot injury, the team announced Monday. Coach Claude Julien said that Weber's ailing foot has not improved and that he was being sent to Montreal to be re-evaluated. The 32-year-old has scored six goals and set up 10 others with a minus-8 rating in 26 games this season.

C Brian Boyle established a single-game career high with three assists in the Devils' win over Anaheim Monday.

NHL Note - Boston Bruins McAvoy, Charlie

D Charlie McAvoy recorded a Gordie Howe Hat Trick -- a goal, assist and a fight -- in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jackets. He scored a goal in the second period, and picked up an assist and fought Pierre-Luc Dubois of the Jackets in the third.

G Tuukka Rask improved to 6-0-1 in his last seven starts when he made 16 saves in Monday's 7-2 rout of Columbus.

RW Stefan Noesen scored into an empty net at 19:53 on Monday, his fifth of the season and third in the last three games.

RW Patric Hornqvist was sent back to Pittsburgh for further evaluation of his upper-body injury suffered in Saturday's 4-2 win In Arizona. Hornqvist has 11 goals and 10 assists in 31 games this season.
