The Lolling twins of Lincoln have made their college choices. Sisters Kennedy and Morgan Lolling each signed with Lincoln College on Wednesday night. Kennedy signed on to play basketball while Morgan signed on to play volleyball for the Lady Lynx.

The two Lady Railers are currently seniors at Lincoln Community High School and both played volleyball and basketball throughout their high school careers.

Members of the Lady Railers basketball team showed up to show their support for Kennedy and Morgan Lolling.

The Lolling twins previously excelled in sports at West Lincoln-Broadwell.

Lincoln College is very lucky to have landed these terrific athletes and top-notch competitors. It’s a great fit for all involved as Lincoln College transitions to a four-year university.

Lincoln College Women’s Basketball Coach Matt Vavro was on hand Wednesday night at the Jack D. Nutt Arena along with several members of the current Lady Lynx Basketball Team. Coach Vavro looks forward to the addition of Kennedy to his already stellar group of athletes.

“We are happy to have Kennedy,” said Coach Vavro. "I think her style of basketball is going to be a very smooth transition to what we do in terms of a transition, fast break, push the ball up the court, get after it defensively. You know they play a lot of 1-2-2 over at Lincoln High and we do that in half court and we do that in the full court, so I think it will be a very smooth transition. She can shoot the three ball and that’s something we look to do a lot out of transition. She’s a good student, a local kid and she will be a great addition to the program. We are very happy to have her.”

Kennedy, a guard for the Lady Railers Basketball Team, was happy with her decision, too. "I really like the way they play and I like the program,” said Kennedy of Lincoln College. "I’m glad it’s close to home and I can be comfortable here. I’m excited to start my college basketball career here.”

Lincoln College hit the jackpot by getting both sisters. Morgan chose volleyball and as a setter she will be a perfect fit for the Lincoln College Women’s Volleyball Team.

Signing on the dotted line...Lincoln College gets one volleyball player and one basketball player in the Lolling twins.

The Lady Lynx Volleyball Coach Mark Tippett was on hand Wednesday night, although he mentioned his team had already left town for Christmas break, and he set his sights on Morgan earlier in the volleyball season.

“Setting was a high priority for us for recruiting for this year,” said Coach Tippett. "We are returning the majority of our team but we are not returning any of our setters from last year’s team. So setting is job one for me and I’d seen Morgan play a couple times during the season and knew she really had the skills to be able to come in and start for us right away. Which is exactly what we needed. It’s a great fit. She’s a super athlete and certainly she has the setting skills that we need to come in and work with the hitters. We’ve got a real strong offense coming back next year and somebody that is going to be able to come right in and run a fast offense and understand what we need to be productive is exactly what I saw in her. I think we are in good shape."

Morgan cited many positives with choosing Lincoln College. “I really like being close to home,” said Morgan. "I just really like the facility and I like that I’ll be getting to play with Kaylyn (Hoffert) again and meeting new people.”

Morgan and Kennedy are the daughters of Kyle and Jenny Lolling. Proud grandparents are Beverly Lolling, and Richard and Linda Osborn, all of Lincoln.

Congratulations Morgan and Kennedy!
