[December 20, 2017]    The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team returned to form on Tuesday evening as they went over the 100 point mark again to pick up a road win over Blackhawk College.

The Lady Lynx controlled the action from start to finish in this contest and were able to steadily increase their lead throughout. Indianapolis native Emoni Smith led all scorers with 24 points while Kaleia Montiero (Rockford) recorded the team’s only double-double by scoring 12 points and grabbing a team-high 21 rebounds. Sophomore Erynn Young (Indianapolis) also turned in a terrific all-around performance with 20 points, 8 steals, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

“It was good to get back on track tonight,” said Coach Vavro. “We forced 27 steals which led to opportunities on the offensive end and shared the ball well ending with 24 assists.”

Coach Vavro was pleased with the way his players responded after taking their firt loss of the season just days before. “We had a bad taste in our mouth after Saturday’s game, so it was good to go into the break on the winning side of things,” he stated.

Lincoln (13-1) will next be in action on January 12th with a home match against the Millikin University JV team.
