Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers open with a win at St. Teresa Tournament

[December 22, 2017]    The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers won their first game in the 2017 Team Soy Christmas Tournament at Decatur St. Teresa High School on Thursday night. The Hilltoppers defeated Riverton 59-55.

 

Mount Pulaski trailed most of the game, but finally took the lead in the fourth quarter, 47-46. Riverton had as much as a fifteen-point lead over the Hilltoppers early in the contest.

The Hilltoppers rallied with three players reaching double figures. Peyton Taylor led the way with 21 points. Drew Martin tossed in 15 points and Gezus Oliver scored 11 points. Mount Pulaski improves to 9-3 on the season.

The Hilltoppers will play Sullivan today, Friday, at 3:00 p.m. as the tournament resumes.
