[December 22, 2017]  OZARK, AL - Zella Shehorn, 87, formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on December 17, 2017 at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation in Ozark, AL.

Obituary

Zella Shehorn, 87, formerly of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on December 17, 2017 at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation in Ozark, AL. (I want everyone to know that Grandma was not alone when she passed. Her grandaughter and great grandaughter were by her side, holding her hand.)

Zella was born on June 25, 1930 in Mount Pulaski, daughter of Willis Henry and Eva (Purcell) Ayers. She married Robert Shehorn on October 15, 1950 in Mount Pulaski Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1991.

Surviving Zella is son: Darrell Shehorn of Wisconsin; grandchildren: Angela (Brad) Wessner of Ozark, AL and Michael Shehorn of (unknown); two great grandchildren: Sierra and Brad Wessner Jr; one sister: Betty Erlenbush of Lincoln, one brother: Lonnie Ayers of Lincoln, one sister-in-law: Peggy Willis Ayers; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Stephen Shehorn, and her siblings: Willis “Junior” Ayers, Robert Ayers, Lucille Seiler, and Rosemary Lathrop.

Services for Zella will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 23, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Robert Twist Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service.
