[February 03, 2017]  Feb 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Thursday's NHL games.

Predators 2, Oilers 0

Pekka Rinne stopped 31 Edmonton shots for his 42nd career shutout at Bridgestone Arena. Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson scored the Predators goals.

Talbot finished with 25 saves for the Oilers, who started a three-game trip with the loss.

Rangers 2, Sabres 1 (overtime)

Chris Kreider scored at 3:56 of overtime to lead the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

It was Kreider's 20th goal of the season. Following a give-and-go sequence with left winger J.T. Miller, Kreider's shot from the right circle beat goaltender Robin Lehner.

Senators 5, Lightning 2

Mark Stone scored twice and added an assist as Ottawa defeated Tampa Bay at Amalie Arena.

Erik Karlsson had three assists, Kyle Turris and Mike Hoffman each had a goal and assist, and Chris Kelly added a goal for the Senators. Mike Condon finished with 19 saves.

Flyers 3, Canadiens 1

Matt Read scored the winning goal 3:32 into the third period and Michal Neuvirth turned away 15 of the 16 shots he faced as Philadelphia topped Montreal.

Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to win for the fourth time in five games and erase the memories of Tuesday night's 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh.

Jets 4, Stars 3

Mark Scheifele scored two goals and Ondrej Pavelec made 38 saves for Winnipeg in a win against Dallas at American Airlines Center.

The Jets also got a goal and an assist from Nikolaj Ehlers, a goal from Bryan Little and two assists from Patrik Laine.

Blackhawks 4, Coyotes 3

The line of Artem Anisimov, Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin broke out of a scoring slump to beat Arizona.

Kane, Ryan Hartman and Marian Hossa scored in the first period, Panarin scored early in the second and Corey Crawford turned aside 24 shots as the Blackhawks snapped a three-game losing streak.

Blues 5, Maple Leafs 1

Paul Stastny and Vladimir Tarasenko scored 35 seconds apart in the second period to lead St. Louis over Toronto in Mike Yeo's debut as the Blues head coach.

Jake Allen stopped 25 of 26 shots to get his first win in goal since Jan. 2, while Stastny had another goal and Alexander Steen and Colton Parayko also scored for the Blues.
