[February 13, 2017]  LINCOLN -  Mina Edith (Boyer) Sampson, 93, of Lincoln, passed away February 2, 2017, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to Noon, Monday, February 6, 2017, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Mina Edith (Boyer) Sampson, 93, of Lincoln, passed away February 2, 2017, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Monday, February 6, 2017, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon also at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Vance officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mina was born September 19, 1923, in Middletown, the daughter of Fred and Isabelle Boyer. She graduated in 1941 from Middletown High School as valedictorian of her class. Mina raised her eight children on her own and often took in washing and ironing and babysat to make ends meet. She set type for the Middletown Ledger Newspaper, worked at Stetson's China Factory, and retired from Lincoln Developmental Center after 25 years of service. She was a Sunday School teacher at Middletown Presbyterian Church and State Street Baptist Church. She was currently a faithful and beloved member of Park Meadows Baptist Church. She also volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School in the reading program. In her free time, Mina loved to read, work crossword puzzles, go out to eat with friends and family, and spend time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Jackie Welshans of Lincoln; Judy Hambleton of Lincoln; Ron (Karen) Sampson of Lincoln; Roger (Joan) Sampson of Reed City, MI.; Jean I. (Wayne) Mileham of Woodhull, Joy E. (Dan) Fulk of Lincoln; Julie Barger of Lincoln; and Rob (Laura) Sampson of Pawnee; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Homer and Harold Boyer, sisters Rose Mc Grew and Helen Post, and grandson Paul Mileham.

Memorial donations may be made to Park Meadows Baptist Church or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
