[February 27, 2017]  Feb 26 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of National Hockey League games on Sunday:

Blue Jackets 5, Rangers 2

The Columbus Blue Jackets, who returned to action from their bye week with a home win on Saturday, followed that up with an impressive 5-2 road victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Cam Atkinson and Alexander Wennberg both scored a pair of goals for the Blue Jackets, and Josh Anderson scored once. Sergei Bobrovsky sparkled with 28 saves, while earning his 32nd victory of the season, tying his career high set in 2013-14.

Rick Nash and Jesper Fast scored the Rangers.

Predators 5, Oilers 4

Viktor Arvidsson scored Nashville's third power-play goal of the game at 1:19 of the third period, lifting his team over Edmonton.

Filip Forsberg scored his eighth goal in four games for the Predators and James Neal collected three assists. Defensemen P.K. Subban and Roman Josi each added two assists. Ryan Ellis, Vernon Fiddler and Colin Wilson also scored for the Predators.

NHL scoring leader Connor McDavid tallied a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who stayed five points behind idle San Jose in the Pacific Division.

Flames 3, Hurricanes 1

Johnny Gaudreau scored two goals as Calgary completed a splendid road trip by defeating Carolina.

Michael Ferland also scored for the Flames, who went 4-0-1 in five road games to gain more traction in a bid for a Western Conference playoff spot.

Victor Rask scored for the Hurricanes, who won only once during a five-game homestand (1-3-1).

Bruins 6, Stars 3

Boston finished a four-game road trip with another victory thanks to three-point performances from both Patrice Bergeron, who had two goals and an assist, and Brad Marchand (goal, two assists) against Dallas.

David Krejci, Frank Vatrano and Ryan Spooner also scored for the Bruins, who received three assists from Torey Krug and two from David Pastrnak.

Jiri Hudler, John Klingberg and Tyler Seguin each scored and set up a goal for the Stars, who fell to 7-11-4 against the Eastern Conference.

Senators 2, Panthers 1

Erik Karlsson produced two assists, and Kyle Turris scored the go-ahead goal as Ottawa defeated Florida.

Ottawa also got good goaltending from Craig Anderson, who made 37 saves, including a stellar glove stop on an otherwise open right side of the net in the second period on Reilly Smith.

Florida, which lost its fourth consecutive home game, got a power-play goal from Jonathan Marchessault. Panthers goalie James Reimer made 31 saves.

Blackhawks 4, Blues 2

Artem Anisimov snapped a third-period tie with a goal and Scott Darling made 30 saves as Chicago won for the ninth time in 10 games, beating St Louis.

Anisimov took a pinpoint cross-ice pass from Artemi Panarin with 5:20 remaining in the third period before Darling helped hold off a late St Louis rally to preserve the win for the Blackhawks.

The Blues took their third loss in a row despite getting 38 saves from Jake Allen.

Coyotes 3, Sabres 2

Radim Vrbata ripped a slap shot through a screen with 18.9 seconds left in regulation as Arizona rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Buffalo at Gila River Arena.

The goal gave Vrbata 600 career points and extended his point streak to nine games. Max Domi and Jamie McGinn also scored for the Coyotes, who got 31 saves from Louis Domingue.

Jack Eichel and Evan Rodrigues scored for Buffalo, which fell seven points off the Eastern Conference playoff pace after a pair of losses this weekend on the road.
