Mount Pulaski hosted Porta Thursday night at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium and despite 22 points from Skylar Hayes and a career high of 20 points from Morgan May, the Lady Hilltoppers fell 56-49 to the Lady Blue Jays.

Megan Price led Porta with 27 points.

The tremendous effort from the Lady Hilltoppers was probably the best thirty minutes of basketball the ladies played this year, according to Assistant Coach Steve Hayes.

Mount Pulaski held a 16-14 lead at the end of one quarter of play.

At the half Porta took the lead 33-31.

Mount Pulaski managed to tie the game 41-41 at the end of the third quarter.

Porta outscored Mount Pulaski 15-8 in the final eight minutes and that was the difference. Porta left town with the 56-49 win.

Mount Pulaski will host St. Teresa next week on Monday with the Junior Varsity tip-off set for 6 p.m. and the Varsity scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
