[January 13, 2017]  LINCOLN -  Robert "Bob" Tumbleson, 73, of Lincoln, passed away January 6, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Visitation: None

Service: 11 a.m., Thursday,  January 19, 2017, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Tumbleson Sr.,73, of Lincoln, formerly of California, passed away January 6, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. January 19, 2017, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in California, with his wife.

Bob was born May 3, 1943, in Port Smith, Ohio, the son of Sherril and Anna (Renz) Tumbleson. He married Eva Mitchell on January 26, 1962. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2005.

Mr. Tumbleson proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 20 years of service. Bob enjoyed bowling and pool. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his Logan Lanes family and friends for making him feel at home for the last ten years.

 

Survivors include: his children Robert Lee Tumbleson Jr. (Leanne) of Mantorville, MN.; Damon Tumbleson (Elizabeth "Beth) of Decatur, AL; Beckie Taylor (Shawn) of Lincoln, and Christy McCafferty (Rick) of Highland, CA.; grandchildren: Amanda, Troy, Melissa, Jill, Steven, Tawnie, Ashley, Carissa, and Kyle; great-grandchildren Carmine and Lynnox; and brother Jim Tumbleson (Roberta) of Sharon, MA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Memorial donations may be made to United Way of Logan County and will be accepted at the funeral home.
