U.S. purchase mortgage activity hits highest in over seven months: MBA

[January 25, 2017]  NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. application activity to buy a home rose to its highest since early June even as home borrowing costs increased for the first time in four weeks, Mortgage Bankers Association data released on Wednesday showed.

 

The Washington-based industry group said its seasonally adjusted measure on loan applications for home purchases rose to 243.2 in the week ended Jan. 20, up 6.0 percent from the previous week.
