Lady Railers JV fall in overtime to Rochester JV 38-36

[January 28, 2017]  The CS8 non-city Tournament concluded Saturday with the Lincoln JV falling in a thriller to the Rochester JV 38-36 in overtime.

Rochester led after the first quarter 14-6 but thanks to a 13-point second quarter by Leah Schneider, Lincoln was right back in this one, trailing just 20-19 at halftime.

Lincoln even outscored the Lady Rockets 10-4 in the third quarter and pulled ahead 29-24.

Lincoln cooled off a bit in the fourth quarter while the Lady Rockets heated up and at the end of regulation the game was tied 35-35.

Only two baskets were scored in OT, with the Lady Rockets’ Peyton Boudouris connecting for the game-winning three.

Lincoln’s only point in OT was a free throw by Emma Konczyk. Leah Schneider led all scorers with 21 points and Emma Konczyk reached double figures with 11 points.

The Lady Railers JV posted a 3-2 record for the tournament.

The next game for these ladies is Thursday at Decatur Eisenhower. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
