[July 21, 2017]  SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) and State Representative Tim Butler (R-Springfield) will host a free Senior Health Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. July 26 at Oasis Senior Center, 2810 Woodlawn Rd in Lincoln.

“The Senior Health Fair is a great opportunity for local seniors to come out and learn more about the resources available to them from both their community and the state” said Brady. “I would encourage seniors to come out and take advantage of this wonderful resource.”

The fair, which is free and open to the public, will feature health screenings, testing and a variety of vendors with information about programs that benefit seniors. Refreshments, giveaways and free informational legislative brochures will also be available.

The Logan County Health Department will also be at the event to assist with medication disposal. The medication disposal effort is part of the Department’s Opioid Task Force, which aims to prevent medications from getting into the wrong hands.

“I’m excited to participate in what is essentially ‘one stop shopping’ for area seniors to learn about the variety of services offered at both the state and local level that can help them stay healthy and reduce medical and other costs,” said Rep. Butler.
