ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Miami Marlins crushed Texas 22-10 on Wednesday night in what may have been Yu Darvish's last outing in a Rangers uniform.

Miami broke the game open by breaking down the Texas ace in a nine-run fourth inning. All nine starters in the Marlins' lineup had at least one hit and one RBI in an offensive onslaught that produced a franchise record for runs and a season high for hits (22).

Dee Gordon, Christian Yelich, J.T. Realmuto and Giancarlo Stanton each hit home runs for Miami. Stanton leads the majors with 33 long balls. Derek Dietrich and Marcell Ozuna each drove in five runs for the Marlins.

Darvish (6-9), the subject of rampant speculation going into Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, was battered for 3 2/3 innings, giving up 10 runs on nine hits before leaving. The Rangers' Adrian Beltre needs four hits to reach 3,000 after belting a home run and two doubles.

Royals 16, Tigers 2

DETROIT -- Eric Hosmer's first career grand slam highlighted a nine-run seventh inning as Kansas City extended its season-best winning streak to eight games.

Hosmer matched his career high with five hits while scoring five runs and driving in six as the Royals racked up a season-high 22 hits. The 16 runs and nine-run inning tied season highs for the Royals.

Whit Merrifield and Mike Moustakas each supplied three hits and drove in a run for Kansas City. Lorenzo Cain also rapped three hits and scored three runs, Alcides Escobar contributed two hits and drove in two runs, and Drew Butera added a two-run single during the seventh-inning outburst.

Dodgers 6, Twins 5

LOS ANGELES -- Justin Turner singled with two outs in the ninth inning to drive in Austin Barnes with the winning run as Los Angeles erased a 5-0 deficit before completing its 13th sweep of the season.

Barnes singled up the middle with one out in the ninth off closer Brandon Kintzler (2-2) and Chris Taylor hit a hard grounder off the glove of diving shortstop Jorge Polanco. Barnes and Taylor moved to second and third on a groundout by Corey Seager, bringing up Turner, who lifted the Dodgers to their fifth straight win.

Joc Pederson and Yasiel Puig hit solo home runs and Chase Utley provided a pinch-hit two-run double for Los Angeles.

Blue Jays 3, Athletics 2

TORONTO -- Justin Smoak hit a two-run homer and Kendrys Morales followed with a solo blast as Toronto rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Oakland.

The rally spoiled a solid effort from Athletics starter Paul Blackburn, who held the Blue Jays to two hits and three walks while striking out three in seven scoreless innings in his fifth major league start.

Oakland's Santiago Casilla (2-5) entered in the ninth and issued a leadoff walk to Josh Donaldson. Smoak followed with his 28th homer to tie the score, and Morales followed with his 18th.

Red Sox 4, Mariners 0

SEATTLE -- Chris Sale pitched seven scoreless innings and Rafael Devers homered for his first major league hit as Boston snapped a season-high four-game losing streak.

Devers, the organization's top prospect, was playing in his second game since being called up from Triple-A Pawtucket. He led off the third inning with a 427-foot blast to center field off Mariners rookie right-hander Andrew Moore (1-3).

Sale (13-4) struck out 11, walked one and hit a batter with a pitch. It was the fourth time in his past five starts that Sale didn't allow a run; he has pitched six or more innings in each of those appearances.

Cubs 8, White Sox 3

CHICAGO -- Jake Arrieta allowed only two hits in 6 2/3 innings and Anthony Rizzo drilled a three-run double and drove in four runs as the Cubs defeated the White Sox.

Rizzo's bases-loaded double sparked a four-run fifth inning before the Cubs -- 10-2 since the All-Star break -- added another run in the sixth. The win moved the Cubs into first place in the National League Central.

Yoan Moncada hit his first major league home run for the White Sox, who have lost 14 of their last 16 games.

Indians 10, Angels 4

CLEVELAND -- Bradley Zimmer's two-out RBI double in the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and Cleveland scored seven more times in the eighth inning en route to its sixth straight victory.

Reliever Bryan Shaw (4-4) pitched one scoreless inning to get the win after Carlos Carrasco pitched 6 1/3 frames, giving up two runs and six hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Los Angeles starter Ricky Nolasco (4-12) took the loss.

Run-scoring hits by Carlos Santana, Jackson, Yan Gomes, Erik Gonzalez (two-run single), Michael Brantley and Brandon Guyer in the eighth inning provided the Indians with seven insurance runs. Cleveland collected 17 hits.

Yankees 9, Reds 5

NEW YORK -- Luis Severino pitched seven dominant innings and Todd Frazier hit his first home run for his new team as New York pulled away from Cincinnati.

[to top of second column]

Severino (7-4) extended his scoreless-innings streak to 17 by taking a shutout into the seventh. Since allowing a three-run homer to Milwaukee's Domingo Santana on July 8, the right-hander has allowed one earned run in 27 innings.

Frazier's home run came in the seventh inning and made it 9-2. Homer Bailey (2-5) allowed seven runs (five earned) and 10 hits in six-plus innings in losing his third straight start.

Nationals 8, Brewers 5

WASHINGTON -- Ryan Zimmerman delivered a two-out, two-run double in the eighth as the previously moribund Washington offense exploded for seven runs in the inning to defeat Milwaukee.

Ryan Madson (3-4) pitched a scoreless eighth inning to pick up the win. The Nationals' Sean Doolittle allowed three runs in the ninth inning, but he closed the game out by striking out Domingo Santana for the final out.

Santana hit a 476-foot home run off Washington starter Gio Gonzalez in the first inning, his 17th homer of the season, and Lewis Brinson added his first major league home run in the ninth for the Brewers.

Cardinals 10, Rockies 5

ST. LOUIS -- Right-hander Carlos Martinez keyed a five-run fourth inning with an RBI single that put St. Louis ahead to stay as it finished a three-game sweep of Colorado.

Martinez (7-8) survived an occasionally rocky outing, allowing seven hits and five runs in six innings, walking two and striking out eight. The Cardinals exploded for 15 hits off four Rockies pitchers, who also offered plenty of help.

The Rockies issued eight walks and tossed three wild pitches, including one that scored Kolten Wong in the seventh with the final run. Randal Grichuk went 4-for-5 for the Cardinals, while Matt Carpenter and Yadier Molina each contributed two-run doubles.

Phillies 9, Astros 0

PHILADELPHIA -- Aaron Nola struck out a career-best 10 batters and batterymate Cameron Rupp smashed two home runs for the first time in his career as Philadelphia avoided a sweep by routing Houston.

Nola (8-6) threw six scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 1.49 in his last seven starts, and he quieted an Astros lineup that entered with a .331 batting average in July. The Phillies had 14 hits, nine of which went for extra bases.

Maikel Franco also hit a two-run homer, and Philadelphia scored at least nine runs for the seventh time this season. Nola allowed four hits and walked one batter.

Rays 5, Orioles 1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Tampa Bay got another stellar start from Alex Cobb, and Evan Longoria's sixth-inning home run helped in a victory over Baltimore.

The Rays took two of the three from the Orioles, bouncing back nicely from a five-game losing streak.

The Orioles led 1-0 into the sixth behind starter Ubaldo Jimenez, but Longoria crushed a two-run homer to give Tampa Bay the lead.

Diamondbacks 10, Braves 3

PHOENIX -- Ketel Marte's two-run, inside-the-park homer followed Daniel Descalso's two-run triple in a breakout third inning and Arizona roughed up spot starter Aaron Blair in a victory over Atlanta.

The Diamondbacks built a 5-1 lead by the third, then added on with a pair of two-run homers by J.D. Martinez -- his second and third since being acquired from Detroit last week.

Patrick Corbin (8-9) stranded 10 runners -- nine in the first four innings -- while lasting six innings. It was his second win in as many starts after losing three in a row. The left-hander is 4-0 in seven career appearances against Atlanta.

Padres 6, Mets 3

SAN DIEGO -- Rookies Manuel Margot and Luis Torrens drove in five runs with two swings of the bat to lead San Diego past New York.

Margot, 22, hit a two-run homer in the first while Torrens, 21, hit a bases-loaded triple in the third to up the Padres' lead to 6-1. Jhoulys Chacin (10-7) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks, with five strikeouts, in 5 1/3 innings.

Chacin, who entered the game with the lowest home ERA in the National League, is 6-2 with a 2.05 ERA in 11 starts at Petco Park. Left-hander Brad Hand picked up his fourth save.

Giants 2, Pirates 1

SAN FRANCISCO -- Pittsburgh left fielder Starling Marte misplayed Brandon Belt's fly ball with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, allowing Miguel Gomez to score the go-ahead run and send San Francisco to victory.

Right-hander Jeff Samardzija (5-11), whose name has been mentioned in trade rumors, pitched seven strong innings for his second win over the Pirates this month.

The Giants took two of three from the National League Central contenders, who arrived in San Francisco having won six of their last eight games.
