Mostly seasoned winners take top awards at KCBS BBQ contests

[June 05, 2017]  LINCOLN - At 5:00 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Lincoln, this year's Up in Smoke on the Square winners of the Kids Que, Backyard BBQ, and KCBS competitions were announced.


Top prizes for the Kids Que were Marin and Malina Luckhart of 'Little Nuthatch Hill' for the seven to 11-year-old age category and won the overall.

Isaiah Wahab of 'That One Brown Kid' for the 12 to 15-year-old age category.



Top prizes in the Backyard BBQ competition went to 'Backdraft' for Reserve Grand Champion

and 'Twisted Smoke' for Grand Champion.

Top prizes for the KCBS competition were:


'Jugs BBQ' in the chicken category,

'Pork Paradise' in the pork ribs category,

'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere' in the pork category,

'Pork Paradise' in the brisket category.

Pork Paradise received Reserve Grand Champion

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere received Grand Champion.
