[June 07, 2017]  June 6 (The Sports Xchange) - The New York Jets released longtime starting inside linebacker David Harris, head coach Todd Bowles confirmed Tuesday.

Bowles said the release occurred after talks broke down regarding a renegotiated contract. Harris was due to make $6.5 million in 2017 in the final season of a three-year, $21.5 million contract.

Los Angeles Chargers rookie receiver Mike Williams will miss the rest of the team's offseason program due to a mild herniated disk in his lower back.

The first-round pick will miss the team's mandatory minicamp next week and may not be ready for the start of training camp in late July.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck still has not been cleared to throw a football following surgery 4 1/2 months ago, coach Chuck Pagano said.

Luck had his right shoulder operated on in January after dealing with issues since he sustained an injury in September 2015. Pagano said there is no timetable for when Luck will be cleared to throw.

Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker is out indefinitely after undergoing shoulder surgery Monday as a result of an injury he sustained last week during organized team activities, the team announced.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell will provide an update on the 23-year-old Decker's status at the start of training camp. Caldwell does not anticipate that the surgery will sidelined Decker for the entire 2017 season.

The Arizona Cardinals signed linebacker Alex Bazzie, cornerback Daniel Gray and wide receiver Chris Hubert, and the waived linebacker Mikey Bart.

Bazzie, 26, spent this offseason with the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers before being released by the latter on May 30. Gray, 23, was an undrafted free agent out of Utah State. Hubert, 24, is back with the Cardinals after being released by the team on May 10.
