Monday fire damages property on Williamette Avenue

[June 13, 2017]  LINCOLN - The city of Lincoln Fire Department with assistance from other local departments responded to a garage fire on Williamette Avenue in Lincoln on Monday afternoon. 

Following is the official report on the fire from Chief Mark Miller.

Incident; Structure fire in a garage at a single family dwelling 17- 1118

Control Time; 14:05

Lincoln Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire in a garage, upon arrival of the first in units the garage was fully involved spreading to nearby structures and an RV. Lincoln Fire, Off Duty Lincoln Firefighters, Lincoln Rural Fire, Atlanta Fire, Logan County Paramedics, Logan EMA and Lincoln Police, worked the incident until all structures were extinguished and safe. The Mount Pulaski Fire stood by Lincoln Fire Department, 20 firefighters battled the blaze.

Estimated $18,000 damage to garage and contents and damage to three buildings in close proximity as well as an RV as a result of radiant heat.

Cause is determined to be the occupant of the garage was welding on a car and ignited the interior and a fuel line.
