Third Fridays Return with “Fun and Adventure Night”

[June 13, 2017]   LINCOLN -  The “3rd Fridays Downtown” series for 2017 kicks off with “Fun and Adventure Night” which will take place on Friday, June 16th between the hours of 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

This month’s event will offer inflatables for all ages such as a Giant Wrecking Ball and a bouncy house. Other activities include the return of giant versions of popular games such as Jenga and Connect Four. Spirited Republic and Alley-Bi Saloon will once again be sponsoring a 3-hour bags tournament. The cost is $20 per team with prizes awarded to the top teams.

Mayor Seth Goodman will also have his highly recognizable balloon “Done Deal” set up in the empty lot on the corner of Broadway and N. Hamilton Street, directly across from the Logan County Safety Complex. Adults and children are encouraged to stop by and get an up-close look at Mayor Goodman’s hot air balloon and learn more about it.

Dinner options for the family include Flossie and Delzena’s and Sorrento’s who will serve pizza by the slice for $1 and Mama’s Arcade who will be serving cheeseburgers for $2. Alley-Bi Saloon will be selling cheeseburgers as well. When you’re ready for dessert, Schwann’s will serve ice cream treats for $1.

This month’s musical entertainment includes performances by Alex and the XO’s, Erin Nowicki, and 6’10”.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by tents of the numerous non-profit organizations that will be available during the event and to also patronize those downtown businesses that will be offering special extended hours to accommodate late night shopping.

After the event concludes the Alley-Bi Saloon will continue to celebrate their 35th anniversary on Pulaski Street until 11am.
