Illinois American Water’s Lincoln District to Complete Road Restoration

[June 21, 2017]  LINCOLN -  Last fall, Illinois American Water invested approximately $500,000 to install over 3,100 feet of water main and six fire hydrants in the Lincoln water system. Due to weather conditions at project completion, a temporary road restoration was completed. Permanent road restoration will occur this week.

Residents in the area work is occurring should keep their vehicles off the roadway to avoid interaction or interference with the oil and chipping. The work will take place on Ottawa Street from Harrison Street to Oklahoma Avenue.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to occur Thursday, June 22. The rain date for this work is Friday, June 23. Motorists should avoid the area if possible. Otherwise, they should use caution and obey traffic signs when driving in the area. This work will not affect water service to customers.
