[June 26, 2017]    June 24 (The Sports Xchange) - Center Skyler Brind'Amour and goaltender Cayden Primeau were among more than a dozen players with NHL bloodlines who were chosen on the second and final day of the draft in Chicago on Saturday.

 

Brind'Amour is the son of Rod Brind'Amour, who had 1,184 points during a career that included a Stanley Cup championship with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006. The Edmonton Oilers chose the younger Brind'Amour with the 177th pick in the sixth round.

Primeau's father, Keith, and uncle, Wayne, combined for more than 300 goals. Cayden Primeau was taken by the Montreal Canadiens in the seventh round (No. 199).

The New York Islanders acquired three draft picks from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Travis Hamonic and a fourth-round selection.

The Islanders sent Hamonic and the fourth-round pick in 2019 or 2020 to Calgary in exchange for next year's first-round pick, a 2018 second-round pick and a second-round pick in 2019 or 2020.

Hamonic, 26, recorded 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 49 games this past season with the Islanders. He has 146 points (26 goals, 120 assists) in 444 career games over seven seasons with the Islanders.

The Los Angeles Kings signed forward Andy Andreoff to a two-year contract extension that will have an annual average value of $677,500.

Andreoff, 26, appeared in 36 games this past season with the Kings, posting two assists and 70 penalty minutes. He has 15 points (10 goals, five assists) and 164 penalty minutes in 114 games over three seasons in the NHL.

The Winnipeg Jets agreed to terms with defenseman Ben Chiarot on a two-year contract with an average annual value of $1.4 million.

Chiarot, 26, played in 59 games with the Jets this past season with 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) before suffering a season-ending upper-body injury in March. ))
