Girls Volleyball Class Class 8-1A: Local volleyball teams in regional action

[March 07, 2017]    It is a busy week for the local eighth grade talent on the volleyball court. In the Class 8-1A Regional hosted by Hartsburg-Emden the no. 1 seeded Hartem Stags received a first round bye and will take the court tonight at 6:00 p.m. against Lincoln's Carroll Catholic.

Carroll Catholic defeated cross-town rival Chester-East Lincoln 25-12 and 27-25 in the first matchup of regionals to advance to the semifinals.

In the second matchup Tuesday night no. 2 seeded West Lincoln Broadwell defeated South Pekin 25-10 and 25-14. West Lincoln Broadwell will face Delavan tonight at 7 p.m.

Delavan knocked off Greenview in the last matchup Tuesday night by scores of 25-18 and 25-6.

The winners of tonight’s contests will play each other tomorrow night for the Class 8-1A Regional Championship at 6 p.m. at Hartsburg.
