LINCOLN
- Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital provides a free education
group for people with diabetes mellitus. The group meets the third
Friday of the month at the Oasis Senior Center located at 2810
Woodlawn Road in Lincoln. This month the group will meet on Friday,
March 17 from 11am to 12pm and discuss the topic, “Diabetes
Medication Review and What’s New.”
|
The casual group meetings are free and do not require
registration. Jennifer DiPasquale, a registered dietitian and
certified diabetes educator, leads the group.
“The diabetes support group is a great opportunity to get practical
and timely information about how to manage your diabetes,”
DiPasquale said. Family members, friends, and caregivers are also
welcome to attend the meetings.
In 2010, an estimated 25.8 million people or 8.3 percent of the
population had diabetes. In Logan County, 9.9 percent of residents
have been diagnosed with diabetes.
