[March 30, 2017]    On Tuesday, the Lincoln College Men's Volleyball team dropped a home match to the visiting Lindenwood-Belleville (NAIA) varsity in four sets.

Lincoln got off to a slow start and trailed most of the way through the first two sets to lose by scores of 25-20 and 25-16.

In set three, the Lynx came to life and built and early lead. LBU would eventually tie the score at 18-18, but Lincoln was able to survive the comeback attempt and win the set 28-26.

In set four, Lincoln again fell behind but was able to close the gap to just two points at 24-22. However, on their first match-point opportunity, an LBU serve hit the top of the net and rolled over to land on the LC side and end the match.

Freshman libero Dylan Russin of Blue Island led Lincoln in service points (7) and digs (11). Sophomore outside hitter Kyle Murphy of Itasca led all hitters with 13 kills in the match, while freshman right side Charles Carter of Blue Island had nine. Lincoln will try to get back on track Friday with a 6:30 home match against Trinity Christian College.
