[May 02, 2017]  May 1 (The Sports Xchange) - New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard is out indefinitely after an MRI exam showed the right-hander sustained a partial tear of his right lat muscle.

Syndergaard underwent the MRI on Monday morning at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and it confirmed the devastating news. The Mets announced he will be placed on the 10-day disabled list and there is no timeframe for his return.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Aaron Sanchez returned to the 10-day disabled list, one day removed after being activated from it.

Right-hander Danny Barnes was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to replace Sanchez, who sustained a split nail on his right middle finger during Sunday's start against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Oakland Athletics reinstated right-hander Sonny Gray from the 10-day disabled list.

Gray, 27, has yet to appear in a major league game this season after being placed on the disabled list March 30 because of a right lat strain.
