[May 18, 2017]    On May 5th, 6th, and 7th the Lincoln College Men's Golf team traveled to Weibring Golf Course in Normal, to compete in the NJCAA Region 24 golf tournament.

The three-day, 56-hole event included nine schools from Illinois and Missouri.

The Lynx turned in a combined team score of 986 earning them 6th place overall. The top two teams plus the top five individuals qualify for the national tournament.

Lincoln was led by sophomore Hunter Bettis of Bluffs, with scores of 80, 78, and 77. The three-day score of 235 earned Hunter a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament May 23-26 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, AZ.

This will be the second trip to a national tournament for Bettis.

In 2016 Hunter competed in the NJCAA National Tournament at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, IN. In that event, a 72 hole total of 294 (+6) performance was good enough for a T-22 finish earning him All-American Honorable Mention status.

Other Lynx members competing in the region event were: Hunter Leach (So. Glasford), Jack White (Fr. Mason City), Cody Curry (So. Mason City) and Josh Matthews(So. Delavan).
