May 19 (The Sports Xchange) - Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jameson Taillon is keeping an optimistic outlook in his recovery following surgery for testicular cancer.

"(I'm) feeling good now, feeling healthy. We're getting all good news back so far," Taillon said on Friday. "Going forward, it'll be something I have to monitor and stay on top of, something I'll carry with me the rest of my life."

Taillon, 25, discovered the abnormality after being placed on the disabled list on May 6. He had tissue surgically removed two days later at Allegheny General Hospital.

Taillon, who owns a 2-1 mark with a 3.31 ERA in six starts this season, was cleared to play catch and resume light cardiovascular drills Wednesday. He has a 7-5 career mark with a 3.36 ERA in 24 games.
