[May 24, 2017]    Lincoln fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-2 loss to Rantoul on Tuesday, according to assistant coach Christian Tanner.

Lincoln scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Lauren Block’s RBI single accounted for one of those runs.

In the bottom half of the first inning Rantoul tied the game on a two-run home run by Brianna Tatar. A fielder’s choice by Lindsey Jordahl in the second inning allowed Rantoul to take a 3-2 lead and that was all they needed.

Lincoln had seven hits in the game but could not get another run across. Kerstin Osborne and Sydney Sutherland each collected multiple hits for Lincoln. Chloe Laubenstein and Maddie Tanner also had base hits for Lincoln.

Hope Moos pitched the last game of her senior season and tossed six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits. Three of the runs were earned. Moos struck out five batters.

Lincoln’s season comes to an end with a 15-17 record.
