Mount Pulaski Community to host dual Memorial Day services

[May 25, 2017]   MOUNT PULASKI - The Mount Pulaski community will host two Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 29th.

The first service will be held at the Mount Pulaski Cemetery at 10 a.m. In the event of rain, the service will be moved to the American Legion on Scroggin Avenue in Mount Pulaski.

The second service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Steenbergen Cemetery Chapel.

For both services, the program will be the same.

The keynote speaker will be Col. William Lee Wheeler of the Illinois Air National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters, Camp Lincoln in Springfield.

There will be readings of the Memorial Day Essay contest winners and the Mount Pulaski High School Band under the direction of David Helm will perform.

There will also be a Wreath and Flowers Ceremony at the end of each event.

The event is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
