[November 06, 2017]   LINCOLN - Members of the Zonta Club of Lincoln recently attended the annual Fall Conference of Zonta International District 6. The conference, entitled “Empowering Our Voice”, took place in Madison, Wisconsin from October 13-15, 2017.

During the three-day meeting, over 100 women representing Zonta clubs from Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin gathered to hear keynote speaker Veronica Rueckert, host of Central Time on Wisconsin Public Radio, who focused on “Speaking While Female” to empower one’s voice.

Patricia Quint, Zonta Club of Lincoln Delegate, was recognized at dinner on Saturday evening during the Parade of Presidents and Isabel Vidal, Club Alternate, presented a program on Membership and Fundraising to attendees.

Three members of the Zonta Club of Lincoln were also recognized for milestone anniversaries: Becky Werth, 35 years; Susan Harmon, 25 years; and Kristen Green, 15 years.

Conference attendees voted on goals, attended educational workshops, and participated in a joint district-wide service initiative called “The Period Project” to provide kits filled with items such as tampons and pads to homeless women.
