[November 20, 2017]  The Illinois Fighting Illini used better ball movement, stingy defense, and solid possessions to corral the Marshall Thundering Herd 91-73 Sunday night.

Leron Black led the Illini with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Kipper Nichols also chipped in with 17 while hauling down 11 rebounds for his first double double.

The Illini dished out 19 assists while only committing 6 turnovers. And Illinois won most of the statistical categories in a big way. Illinois forced the herd into 19 turnovers while snatching 8 steals along the way. The Illini outrebounded Marshall 45-39 and beat them in bench scoring 42-10 on the night.

Michael Finke, Mark Smith and Trent Frazier joined the previously mentioned dynamic duo with 13, 13 and 10 points respectively. Te’Jon Lucas handed out 5 assists.

[to top of second column]

The Fighting Illini are now 4-0 and will next meet Augustana Wednesday night at 6pm.
