Mt. Pulaski knocks off Tri-City 70-43 in Bill Rucks Tournament

The Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers improved their record to 2-0 following Wednesday night’s 70-43 win over Tri-City in the Bill Rucks Tournament.

Peyton Taylor led the Hilltoppers with his second double-double of the season. Taylor had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Mt. Pulaski. Gezus Oliver was close behind with 16 points while Seth Huff and Trevor Hayes each hit double figures with 10 points apiece for the Hilltoppers. Mt. Pulaski held the Tornadoes to just four points in the fourth quarter.

The Hilltoppers biggest lead of 27 points was first achieved when Huff drove the lane for two with 2:09 remaining in the game. As Deibert removed his starters for the subs, fan favorite Joey Davis came in off the bench to score the last Hilltopper points. His layup drew the loudest applause of the evening with 16 seconds left in the game.
