11/29/2017 NHL Note - Calgary Flames Versteeg, Kris

F Kris Versteeg was placed on the Flames' injured reserve list Wednesday with a lower-body injury. Versteeg, 31, has missed the Flames' last two games due to the injury. The move is retroactive to Nov. 25. In 22 games this season, he has recorded three goals, five assists and six penalty minutes.

NHL Note - St. Louis Blues Berglund, Patrik

F Patrik Berglund was activated from injured reserve, the Blues announced Wednesday. Berglund, 29, has been sidelined since suffering a dislocated left shoulder during his offseason training this summer. The 6-4, 219-pound Berglund is entering his 10th season with the Blues. He posted a career-high 23 goals last regular season, while also contributing four assists in 11 postseason appearances.

NHL Note - Boston Bruins Rask, Tuukka

G Tuukka Rask's 19 saves helped the Bruins to a 3-2 victory over the league-leading Lightning on Wednesday night -- Rask's first win since Nov. 5.

Rask, who had lost his last three starts, didn't have the toughest night. But he made a big save on Nikita Kucherov at the end of the second period and then robbed Ryan Callahan with a stick save with just under three minutes remaining. He also got help from a goal post as a Tyler Johnson shot hit the inside of the far post and ricocheted back across but not in.

NHL Note - Tampa Bay Lightning Vasilevskiy, Andrei

G Andrei Vasilevskiy made 33 saves Wednesday in the Lightning's 3-2 loss at Boston. "Vassy gave us a chance to stay in this game, which he always does, and we gave ourselves a chance," Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos said. Vasilevskiy fell to 16-4-1. He is 0-2-1 lifetime against Boston.

NHL Note - Boston Bruins McAvoy, Charlie

D Charlie McAvoy had a goal and an assist for Boston in a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday. He registered his third two-point game of the season.

NHL Note - Boston Bruins Marchand, Brad

LW Brad Marchand, returning from a six-game absence because of an undisclosed injury (reportedly a concussion), had two assists and played his usual sparkplug-like game for Boston in a win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday. "I felt pretty good," said Marchand, who had three shots on goal, a pair of penalties and created traffic for the first Boston goal. "Our line (with Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak) was clicking pretty well so that makes it a lot easier when we're going like that. Just a lot of fun to get back into it."

C Steven Stamkos scored his first goal in six games Wednesday in the Lightning's 3-2 loss at Boston.

NHL Note - Boston Bruins Backes, David

RW David Backes (colon surgery) returned to action Wednesday. He finished a minus-1 in 18:58 of ice time against Tampa Bay. Backes was supposed to miss eight weeks after having some of his colon removed and made it back in 27 days.

NHL Note - Montreal Canadiens Carr, Daniel

LW Daniel Carr was called up from Laval of the AHL after the Wednesday game. Sportsnet reported that Montreal LW Jonathan Drouin didn't travel with the team to Detroit postgame, but no other details were available.

NHL Note - Ottawa Senators Stone, Mark

RW Mark Stone scored a short-handed goal for the Senators in a 2-1 loss at Montreal on Wednesday. Stone, tied for fourth in the NHL in takeaways with 27 entering the game, knocked down a pass by Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk inside the Ottawa blue line. Stone beat D Jeff Petry to the other end of the ice, protecting the puck and beating G Carey Price with a move to the backhand.

D David Schlemko made his Canadiens debut after missing the first 25 games of the season following hand surgery. He played 15:54. Schlemko was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights in June for a fifth-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

NHL Note - Montreal Canadiens Price, Carey

G Carey Price made 27 saves, and Montreal beat Ottawa 2-1 on Wednesday. Price has stopped 100 of 102 shots three games into his return from a 10-game absence caused by a lower-body injury.

"You come in the room and you see how focused he is and you know he's going to have a good night," teammate Jonathan Drouin said of Price. "He's so composed out there. It's actually kind of crazy to look at. He comes to the bench and he's not sweating almost. He's so relaxed. It's a first for me to see that. He's so composed, and he gives us so much confidence."

D Chris Wideman is expected to meet with doctors to see if his injured hamstring will require surgery, according to Sportsnet. He missed his sixth game Wednesday.

NHL Note - Anaheim Ducks Gibson, John

G John Gibson was back in the nets two nights after he was pulled in the middle of the second period, having given up four goals on 22 shots in a blowout loss at Chicago. Gibson was ready for the start against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, and he turned aside the first 36 shots he faced. He ultimately allowed two late goals but still led the Ducks to a 3-2 victory.

"It's going to happen to everybody throughout the year," Gibson, who finished with 37 saves, said about what occurred Monday night. "We just had to bounce back, and we did the job tonight."

C Nathan MacKinnon was denied a game winner 29 seconds into overtime. He didn't sweat his goal being overturned, he just repeated the feat 30 seconds later. MacKinnon scored a power-play goal to lft Colorado past Winnipeg 3-2 on Wednesday night. MacKinnon also had an assist in regulation.

G Semyon Varlamov had 31 saves in his return to the lineup after missing four games because of illness. He led the Avalanche to a 3-2 overtime win against the Jets on Wednesday.

NHL Note - Montreal Canadiens Drouin, Jonathan

LW Jonathan Drouin scored on a penalty shot in the second period as Montreal beat the Senators 2-1 on Wednesday. However, Sportsnet reported that Montreal LW Jonathan Drouin didn't travel with the team to Detroit postgame, but no other details were available.

Drouin was awarded the penalty shot when he got behind Ottawa D Cody Ceci, who hooked him. On the penalty shot, Drouin skated in on Condon and scored on a precise shot off the left post at 2:56.

NHL Note - Vegas Golden Knights McNabb, Brayden

D Brayden McNabb signed a four-year, $10 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, the team announced Wednesday. McNabb collected two assists and 19 penalty minutes in 20 games this season for the Golden Knights, who acquired him from the Los Angeles Kings in June's NHL expansion draft.
