Logan 4-H members participate in 4-H State Shotgun Shoot

 

[September 30, 2017]  LINCOLN - The Illinois 4-H State Shotgun Shoot was held on September 16th at the Brittany Shooting Park near Bunker Hill. More than 60 teens competed for top awards and the chance to represent Illinois in national competition.

Participants from the Logan County 4-H Shooting Sports club included Landon Alcorn, Brandon Batchelder, Brayden Rohlfs, Ethan Sanborn, Maison Sherman, and Makayla Stewart. Placing individually in the top ten at the state shoot were Brayden Rohlfs in fifth place and Brandon Batchelder in tenth place.

The scores of Batchelder, Rohlfs, Sandborn, and Sherman combined to earn the second place ranking as a team at the State Shoot as well. Bill “Birddog” Kennett was coach for the Logan County 4-H Shooting Sports participants and is leader of the local 4-H Shooting Sports club.

Illinois’ national 4-H shooting sports team will be determined from results of this competition. Support for the national team is provided by the Illinois 4-H Foundation.
