10/06/2017 NFL Note - Washington Redskins Norman, Josh

CB Josh Norman of the Washington Redskins is expected to be sidelined about a month with a fractured rib. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Norman is out four weeks with a rib fracture and small puncture in his lung, per sources informed of the situation. Norman sustained the injuries while making a tackle in the 29-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. The Redskins have a bye this week, so a four-week absence would place Norman's return in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 5.

NFL Note - New York Giants Richburg, Weston

C Weston Richburg (concussion) of the Giants was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers at MetLife Stadium. Richburg started the Giants' last 26 games, including one postseason game, at center. He was forced to leave last Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Mariota, Marcus

QB Marcus Mariota, who has been limited in practice all week with a left hamstring strain by the Tennessee Titans, is listed as questionable for Sunday's road game against the Miami Dolphins. Titans coach Mike Mularkey said Mariota will be a game-time decision. Mariota did not start the second half of last Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with the hamstring injury. "If I'm able to move around, hand the ball off and able to drop back, I'll definitely play," Mariota said. "My first and foremost goal is to get healthy. If I am able to play, I'd love to play."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Davis, Corey

WR Corey Davis (hamstring) will miss the Tennessee Titans' game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Cyprien, Johnathan

S Johnathan Cyprien (hamstring) will miss the Tennessee Titans' game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Pittsburgh Steelers Brown, Antonio

WR Antonio Brown admits he needs to control his emotions after he threw a sideline temper tantrum during last Sunday's game when Ben Roethlisberger failed to target him on a play. After not getting the ball downfield, Brown flipped a Gatorade cooler and had words with offensive coordinator Todd Haley on the sideline in Baltimore, where the Steelers won 26-9 to move to 3-1. "You've got to do a better job of controlling emotions," Brown told reporters Friday, via ESPN.com. "I don't want to wake up and turn on the TV and you guys are talking about me throwing a tantrum. We should be talking about Ben and a lot of guys who had a great game, the Steelers winning a big game."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Philadelphia Eagles Smallwood, *Wendell

RB Wendell Smallwood of the Philadelphia Eagles was listed as questionable after he suffered a knee injury against the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday. He has not practiced all week and likely will be a game-time decision.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Green Bay Packers Montgomery, Ty

RB Ty Montgomery of the Green Bay Packers is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys as he deals with multiple broken ribs. Montgomery, who sustained the injury during a 35-14 win over Chicago on Sept. 28, initially expressed optimism that he would play for the Packers (3-1) in their game against the Cowboys (2-2). Montgomery, who was limited in practice all week, has rushed 46 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns this season. He also has 18 receptions for 129 receiving yards and one score.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Green Bay Packers Adams, Davante

WR Davante Adams of the Green Bay Packers is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Adams sustained a concussion on Sept. 28 from a hit by Chicago Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan, who was suspended for one game.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Oakland Raiders Carr, Derek

QB Derek Carr is listed as questionable, which suggests there is an outside chance he will play in Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. It was assumed earlier in the week that Carr would miss at least the next two games. On Monday, coach Jack Del Rio said Carr had a transverse process fracture in his back and would be sidelined two to six weeks. Carr participated in practice on a limited basis both Thursday and Friday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Philadelphia Eagles Cox, Fletcher

DT Fletcher Cox of the Philadelphia Eagles was ruled out for Sunday's home game against the Arizona Cardinals with a calf injury. Cox will be sidelined for a second straight week. "It's Week 5 and we've got a lot of football left and he's progressing nicely so we've just got to be careful," coach Doug Pederson told reporters Friday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Lee, Marqise

WR Marqise Lee returned to practice on Friday in a limited capacity after missing both Wednesday and Thursday practices. Lee is listed as questionable to play on Sunday due to a rib injury he suffered in the New York Jets game last Sunday.

LB Lavonte David has an ankle injury that has forced him to miss the past two games, but may have a chance to return to practice next week.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tampa Bay Buccaneers Alexander, Kwon

LB Kwon Alexander missed his third straight game with a hamstring strain and doesn't want to predict when he will return to the lineup, but it could be against the Cardinals.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Gronkowski, Rob

TE Rob Gronkowski (thigh) was inactive on Thursday night, watching from the bench a day after being added to the injury report at the end of a short work week in which the Patriots held only walk-throughs. Gronkowski was a game-time decision, and early reports indicate he could be ready to go when New England takes on the Jets in New York a week from Sunday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Branch, Alan

DT Alan Branch was not only a healthy scratch against the Bucs, but the veteran defensive lineman did not even make the trip to Tampa with the team. Branch, who re-signed with the Patriots on a two-year deal in the offseason that guarantees him at least $3 million, has played poorly early this season and saw his playing time drop dramatically over the first month after playing 60 percent of New England's snaps a year ago when head coach Bill Belichick called him the Patriots' most consistent defensive lineman.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Rowe, Eric

CB Eric Rowe (groin) was inactive and did not make the trip. Rowe reinjured his groin in last Sunday's loss to the Panthers, did not practice all week and was limping badly in the locker room.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Burkhead, Rex

RB Rex Burkhead (ribs) was inactive and did not make the trip to Tampa. The running back has practiced on a limited basis for the last week-plus, but the first-year Patriot has now missed three games to the injury suffered in Week 2 at New Orleans.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Waddle, LaAdrian

T LaAdrian Waddle, a fill-in starter at right tackle in Week 3 against the Texans, was a healthy scratch for the third time in five games this season.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Croston, Cole

OL Cole Croston, an undrafted rookie, was a healthy scratch in Tampa, the fifth straight week he's been inactive to open his NFL career.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Slater, Matthew

WR Matthew Slater (hamstring) made his season debut with special teams action against the Bucs. The veteran has been sidelined since the first days of training camp with the injury. He saw action on 11 snaps in the kicking game in Tampa.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New England Patriots Harris, David

LB David Harris was active a week after serving as a healthy scratch against the Panthers, but the veteran did not play a single snap against the Bucs. He has not appeared on the injury report at any point this season, either.
