Every Happy Meal® that
is sold at all 98 McDonald’s® Restaurants of Central Illinois and
Peoria/Bloomington locations on Saturday, Oct. 28 will include a
handwritten thank you card from a family that has stayed at the
Ronald McDonald House as a way to show appreciation to local
McDonald’s customers for their support year-round.
Central Illinois and Peoria/Bloomington McDonald’s owner/operators
donate select proceeds from every Happy Meal purchase throughout the
year to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Illinois (RMHCCI).
This donation, along with additional support from generous
McDonald’s customers, helps the Ronald McDonald House serve nearly
1,500 families annually from around the world.
“RMHCCI was founded to provide a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families
of children receiving healthcare at area medical facilities,” RMHCCI
Executive Director, Kelly Thompson, said. “The generosity of
volunteers, donors, and our local McDonald’s owner/operators and
customers make it possible for the Ronald McDonald House to keep
families close, regardless of their ability to pay.”

“We appreciate the generosity of our customers and want to make
sure they understand the local impact they are making year-round with each Happy
Meal purchase,” Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator and President of the Central
Illinois Co-Op, Gary Birschbach, said. “We hope the handwritten thank you cards
will put a smile on the faces of those making a difference.”
