First Presbyterian Church to celebrate 160th Anniversary this Sunday Community invited to morning services on Reformation Sunday

LINCOLN

On Sunday, October 29th, the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln will celebrate Reformation Sunday and the 160th Anniversary of the Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, Illinois. Activities will begin at 9:45 a.m. with a slide show of our Church history given by the Church History Committee. At 10:00 a.m. a special worship service emphasizing the Scottish heritage of Presbyterianism will take place. In addition to the wearing of plaid there will be banners, bagpipes, and kilts. The worship service will be led by the Reverend Adam Quine; Julie Kasa will lead the choir with Chet Lord-Remmert on the organ. The community is invited to attend.

Activities at the Church will continue on All Saints Day, Wednesday, November 1st. . At 6:00 p.m. a special catered meal and celebration service will be held for members and friends of the congregation.

During the day on Wednesday, the Church chapel will be open for anyone to pray, light a candle for your loved ones, and to honor them at this special time. The Ottawa Street doors will be open to the community from 8 a.m. until 8p.m.
