[August 31, 2017]  LINCOLN - Norma L. Smith, 84, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 8:20 p.m. at St. Clara’s Manor.

Visitation: Monday, August 21, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home

Service: 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Norma L. Smith, 84, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 8:20 p.m. at St. Clara’s Manor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home with Mr. Thomas Welty officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Norma L. Patton was born on September 6, 1932 in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Louise Hollis Patton. She was united in marriage to Billie Smith on February 3, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2016.

Surviving Norma are her children: Kimberly McCarty, Karen Tibbs, and Kristy Yarcho; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by infant daughter Linda Denise Smith, and one sister: Donna Patton.

Norma graduated from Normal Community High School in 1950. She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church and Zonta club. Her hobbies included playing cards and Book Club. She volunteered at the Library where she tutored children, and she enjoyed shopping.

Norma worked at the Lincoln Community High School in the Guidance Office and retired from Lincoln Transfer as the office manager after 21 years of service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
